This article is on good shape, up to your usual high standard. Just a few nitpicks really:

link flight commander in the lead
maiden name for his Mum?

suggest new sentence. "This involved attending its college at Cranwell, and he travelled to England the following year to commence his training"

suggest "where it began operating P40s that had been recently used"
drop the comma from "Guadalcanal, in the Solomon Islands"
fly escorts tofor bombers
again flying escort tofor bombing missions
suggest "At the time ~~of his~~he join~~ing~~ed the squadron"
link V1 rocket
he was to be awarded
the Nnaval attache
suggesting added photos to the Secondment and Return to the RAF sections, perhaps a P40/Mosquito or one of the aircraft types he shot down, like a Zero
